AB512 – 5th Generation 7 Msec Multi Zone

512.jpg
World’s Only Wireless Broadcast System with 7 msec sub frame delay

The ABonAir AB512™ wireless video system enables camera teams to transmit video directly from cameras to media centers or OB trucks wirelessly.

Built on a bi-directional radio channel between transmitter and receiver, ABonAir’s systems acknowledge the correct acceptance of each group of pixels, thus providing exceptionally robust and reliable transmission.

For live event coverage & multi-camera production
Low delay enables the production of multi-camera and live shows without worrying about the delay caused by the simultaneous operation of different cameras or lip sync.

Multiple Input Multiple Output Antenna Array

MIMO is a method for multiplying the capacity of a radio link using multiple transmit and receive antennas to take advantage of multipath propagation. MIMO has become an essential element of wireless communication products, especially those using OFDM.

MIMO specifically refers to a practical technique for sending and receiving more than one data signal simultaneously over the same radio channel by exploiting multipath propagation.

1U or Portable Receiver for Maximum Flexibility

For fixed setups or a temporary production

ABonAir receivers come in two builds – 1U and portable. Our 1U rack unit is a standard 1.75 inch / 44.50 mm in height and 19 inches / 48.3 cm wide and fits right into your standard rack. It features a frequency knob, display and supports ABonAir FCE (Fiber Coverage Extender). The 1U rack unit is perfect for professional sports and large broadcast events. Our robust portable receiver provides complete mobility. It fits in a Pelican Case and is geared towards single stage events, OB Vans and religious broadcasts.

Supports All Major Formats and Frame Rates

Works with every camera, for every type of production
ABonAir’s systems support all bit rates and formats so they can be used at any production all over the globe with any camera type. The ABonAir AB512 supports frame rates of: 1080p60, 1080i60, 1080p59.94, 1080p50, 1080PsF23.98, 1080PsF23.98, 720p60, 720p59.94, 720p50 and many more. For details check the Tech Specs above.

If you have a special format or frame rate needs, let us know and we will customize a solution for you.

Ready to use in minutes

Single-Zone & Multi-Zone

Fiber Coverage Extender (FCE) support
The AB612™ supports ABonAir’s Fiber Coverage Extender (FCE), which enables connection of a single receiver to multiple FCEs in various venue locations (e.g. Horse Race Track – race track, stables and the winning circle) or even on completely separate sites (e.g. football stadium, basketball arena and swimming pool) all via fiber cables with unlimited range.

Sony, Panasonic, Ikegami, Grass Valley, Hitachi, Balck Magic , Canon and ARRI Camera Control Units (CCU/RCP) and Camera heads
Yes, the AB612™ unique data port technology enables it to support all major camera brand manufacturers.

Embedded Intercom

Integrated intercom & IFB using the same RF channel
ABonAir’s products are the only wireless broadcast systems supporting an embedded and integrated intercom for communication between the cameraman and the director on the same RF channel as the video content. The AB612™ does not require an additional RF channel allocation for the intercom or additional equipment support. This reduces cost, setup time and frequency usage.

Wide Coverage

Cover up to 1500 meters / 1 mile per zone
Optimization of wireless and video requirements and careful radio design combined with advanced MIMO technology enables ABonAir engineers to extend the system range up to a full 1500 meters / 1 mile with a clear line of sight.

Unlicensed Frequency

No need to use regulated frequency and pay for frequency
Until a few years ago, only large networks could use wireless equipment because it required purchasing expensive frequency licenses from the regulator. In recent years, however, governments and regulators around the world provide unlicensed frequencies for public use for any purpose – including video transmission – allowing even smaller productions to use wireless links easily and free of charge. To answer this demand, manufacturers started to develop unlicensed solutions. Unlicensed systems’ volume grew and drove cost down, motivating large networks to also use them even though they own frequencies.

Bi-Directional Radio.jpg
Bi-Directional Radio

Per pixel acknowledgement
In uni-directional links, the transmitter sends video content to the receiver without receiving any feedback. In bi-directional links, both transmitter and receiver can send and receive data and control information: a packet acknowledgement mechanism identifies errors and quickly fixes them (by re-transmitting the corrupted data), before the frame is presented. This enables bi-directional solutions to assure that all the data is well received without errors, thus increasing picture quality.

PTZ Support

For remote camera operation
ABonAir systems can control any PTZ controlled camera for remote installation of a camera where a wire connection is not possible, for a fixed or mobile installation.
